Eddie’s Top 10 Albums of 2💩2💩
I was going to say this list was a just a little a bit easier to make than the songs list, but then I had my honorable mention list and I was like thank goodness I had already done the covers before I started that list. So again these are 10 of my favorite albums of 2020. Click on the image to hear the full album. Enjoy.
Crush Groovin
It’s no secret that I have fallen in love with Korean music this year, especially K RnB & K-Hip Hop and one of my favorite ‘new’ artists in this genre is Crush. He is an amazingly versatile singer. This year before he went to serve his mandatory military service he released a new EP full of duets with all female artists called with HER. It’s an amazing vibe all unto itself. I hate that it’s so short only five songs with a run time of 18 minutes and we have to wait 2 years before we get any new music, but at least we have a full catalog to hold us until Crush returns. STANDOUT TRACKS include “Tip Toe” featuring LeeHi, who has also become one of my favorite artists. I highly recommend this if you’re in the mood to chill.
Grown Woman Business
Chloe & Halle are on their grown woman shit and I love it. 2020 was definitely their year from their amazing album to their equally amazing performances (mostly from their tennis court). Chloe and Halle straight-up slayed. Again at best I have been a casual fan but that changed with Ungodly Hour which is nothing short of phenomenal.
STANDOUT TRACKS
Forgive Me
Baby Girl
Tipsy
Catch Up (Mike WiLL Made-It, Swae Lee)
Don’t Make It Harder On Me
More Than A Mood
I love Halsey and Manic was definitely one of her best CDs to date. Halsey is one of those artists who gets better with time. I seem to like each cd better than the last. Although this one probably didn’t have as many big radio hits, it’s by far one of her best.
STANDOUT TRACKS
Ashley
Graveyard
You Should Be Sad
SUGA’s Interlude
Got Me Breathless
This is a group I discovered this year through my new found love of KPop. And their latest album which unfortunately may be their last is nothing short of their best and absolutely magnificent from beginning to end. If this is indeed their last album it may be bittersweet but I can not think of a better way to end it.
STANDOUT TRACKS
Breath
Last Piece
WAVE
Waiting For You
I Mean It
We Are Young
Just Chillin
This the album I put on when I am in chill and working my way through some shit mode. That is the vibe of this whole album and honesty this my favorite album ever by Jhené Aiko. Until this album, I would have considered myself just a casual fan of her music. This is one of those albums where I ❤️❤️❤️ every song. Each one has its moment and shines
STANDOUT TRACKS
Triggered
None of Your Concern (feat Big Sean)
B.S (feat H.E.R)
P*$$Y Fairy (OTW)
Born Tired
Woman On Top
This is the year that Ariana Grande stepped fully into her grown-ass woman bag and owned that shit. Positions is an unapologetically sexy masterpiece. Again this is her best work to date.
STANDOUT TRACKS
shut up
34+35
just like magic
off the table (The Weeknd)
safety net (Ty Dolla $ign)

Right On Time
I still don’t know what the fuck the Grammy’s were thinking. They made an egregious error when they snubbed After Hours. It is by far one of the best albums of the year and The Weeknd’s best work to date. This was also one of the first albums that I played on constant repeat during the first part of quarantine and one that I kept going back to throughout the year.
STANDOUT TRACKS
Too Late
Save Your Tears
Hardest To Love
Heartless
Scared To Live
Missed You (Deluxe Version- Bonus Track)
Taylor's Tales
I have always been a fan.of Taylor Swift‘s music, particularly of her songwriting. I think she is probably one of the best songwriters in the game. But this year I think I became a fan of hers personally. Who knew she would become the social justice warrior we didn’t know we needed? She seemed to lose some fucks and that was a good thing. Anyway, she dropped a surprise album or two on us this year and wowed us. I admittedly was not a big fan of her last album Lover. But she more than made up for it with Folklore. This album has been on the repeat rotation since it was released. And yes she is also one of those artists who seems to get better with time. I can’t wait to see how she re-records her old music. it’ll be interesting.
STANDOUT TRACKS

exile (Bon Iver)

illicit affairs

It Always Is...
The title of this album sums up relationships perfectly…When people ask what happened or where it went wrong the answer can be summed up it was good until…it wasn’t…I know I sound like a broken record but this is Kehlani’s best work to date and she also keeps getting better like a fine wine. I even applaud her for reworking the song “Can I’ which originally featured Tory Lanez but after he shot Megan Thee Stallion she quietly reworked the track and he is no longer featured. I must admit to the original version with his feature was one of my favorite joints on the album. But much respect to her for doing the right thing and something a lot of others probably would not have done. This is also an album that has been on constant repeat since it came out.
STANDOUT TRACKS
Toxic
Bad News
Change Your Life (feat. Jhené Aiko)
Hate The Clube (Masego)
Can You Blame Me (Lucky Daye)
Grieving (James Blake)
2020 belonged to BTS. The world was shut down and somehow they still managed to shine. Like Taylor Swift, they also released 2 albums in 2020 both of which topped the charts. I have already talked about all their countless accolades throughout the year. So this is just to appreciate the greatness that is BE. For this to be an unplanned album it is one of their best if not their best. I love it. I hate that it’s so short but again it was an unplanned quarantine album so I will cut them some slack.
STANDOUT TRACKS
ALL OF THEM
I love all things pop culture and entertainment.
