Ariana’s Switching “Positions”
For those who didn’t know or realize that despite her tiny stature, Ariana Grande is a whole grown ass woman, she most definitely leaves no doubt on her new album “Positions” where she goes deep into her grown and sexy bag. I must say that I am all the way here for it. I won’t get into some of the ridiculous reviews and headlines I’ve read. This afterall is a quick pop and not a think piece. So moving on, I absolutely love this album and it has been in constant rotation since it’s release. It’s one of those albums you can listen to from beginning to end without skipping a song. Then once it’s over you just hit play again or leave on repeat. The best description is grown and sexy. There are some bedroom bops as well as some grown ass bangers. Before this album my favorite Ariana album was her 2014 release “My Everything”, featuring her hit single “Love Me Harder” with The Weeknd. Even then I was a casual fan and didn’t pay much attention to Ariana Grande until I saw her live. I walked away from that show with a new found respect. Fan or not one thing you can’t deny is the girl can sang. It has been nice to watch her evolve as an artist, songwriter and woman. I look forward to her continual evolution as all three in the years to come.
Some of my favorite tracks from “Positions” include:
shut up- Basically telling people to mind their own business, not hers.
34+35 - Add up the numbers and you know what this song is about. 😄🙌🏾🙌🏾
just like magic- Is about manifesting your dreams
off the table (with The Weeknd) This is my favorite song from the album and one of my favorite songs right now. It’s about trying to figure out whether or you’re capable of moving on after that one big love and heartbreak
safety net (ft. Ty Dolla $ign)- about falling fast and hard without a safety net.
positions- lead /title track. This was a great intro to the album.
pov- talks about seeing yourself (good & bad)through your partner’s eyes. This is my second favorite song on the album.
