The Daily Wine Down (10-12)
Gal Gadot From Wonder Woman To Cleopatra
Hollywood has been saying for years that Cleopatra should be played by a woman of color. There was a huge outcry and backlash when it was announced that Angelina Jolie was supposed to take on the role. Now the new Cleopatra is going to none other than Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman). No, she’s not a woman of color. I’m not saying she can’t play Cleopatra but what I am saying is they better not do a damn thing to darken her skin or make her appear darker for this role. The movie is to be directed by Wonder Woman director, Patty Jenkins, (EW)
Finally!!!
After many delays, which were not Rona related, believe it or not, Ewan McGregor has announced that the Obi Wan Kenobi series will begin production in March. This is 2020 and that is still a lifetime away, but that is the most promising news we have received about that series in a while (Variety).
Ready, Set,...
The second book in the Ready Player series is scheduled to be released next month and I am not sure about the movie. However, the author Ernest Cline has finally released new details about the plot of the much awaited sequel(THR)
Rumors Ahead Of The Big Apple Event
The iPhone 12 event is scheduled for tomorrow so we will have more details about the new phone and other announcements later. In the meantime here are some rumors from a usually reliable source to hold you over. (Variety)
Congratulations to the Los Angeles Lakers
I write this as someone who is a die hard Clippers fan. I tip my hat to the Lakers and am so happy they won the championship. After Kobe died in January, they became my sentimental favorites. I said then if they won, I’d be happy and root for them all the way. So I am happy they didn’t have to play the Clippers to make that happen. “I want my damn respect.” It sounded odd hearing that from LeBron James. My first thought was you don’t have to like him, personally or professionally, but you absolutely can not hate on his game. That deserves all the respect and then some. He is definitely one of the GOATs in all of sports. He was the finals MVP.(ESPN)
