Christopher Nolan & Legendary Go All In On Warner Brothers Over HBO Max Move
Christopher Nolan the prolific writer, director, and producer (The Dark Knight Series, Inception, Tenet) basically called bullshit on Warner Bros HBO Max move. One reason he said the deal was so messy (a polite way of saying fucked up) is that Warner Bros did not consult anyone in regards to the move. They unilaterally made the decision to release these movies to HBO Max without talking to the producers, actors, production companies, etc. This seems to be confirmed by the fact that Legendary Entertainment which produced Dune and Godzilla & King Kong (both distributed by WB) is considering suing WB because they weren’t consulted about the decision to release films in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously. It seems the initial shock of this move has worn off and the anger has set in. Every day more and more people are speaking out about how bad this really is. (Variety)
Ava DuVernay Developing Naomi Comic AdaptionFor CW
Ava DuVernay is developing the 2019 DC comic, Naomi for the CW. Former arrow writer Jill Blankenship is also set to write and produce the series along with DuVernay. Naomi is about a teenager from a small Northwestern town who develops powers after a supernatural event occurs in her town. She then makes it her mission to get to the bottom of what happened. Well, obviously you had me at Ava DuVernay. Add to that superhero/comic book adaptation this is definitely being filed under hellz yeah. (The Root)
What Had Happened Was...
R&B singer Ann Marie was arrested in Atlanta on felony gun and aggravated assault charges after her friend was shot in the head. Ann Marie claims the gun fell off the table which caused it accidentally go and her friend to get shot in the middle of the forehead. There were several other shell casings and bullet holes found throughout the room. Apparently, the dude was her side dude and they may have gotten into it about him “cheating” on her 🥺🥺. How are you gonna get mad because your sidepiece gotta a sidepiece? First and foremost I hope he will make a full recovery, but whew chile the ghetto. (People)
Breaking Into The Olympics
Breakdancing is coming to the Olympics. Starting in 2024 a the Paris games, breakdancing will officially be an Olympic Sport. B-boys everywhere are rejoicing and doing a couple of headpins. I’m really excited to see how this will be judged and is it an individual as well as team or crew sport? I love dancing in general and wish I were better at it. One of the things I really miss doing is going to my hip hop dance class. (Thanks Rona). Skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing were also added to the games. Those three sports will make their debut next year at the Tokyo games. (ESPN)
