Learning How To Just Be
BTS has released their second album of the year BE which includes their latest single βLife Goes On.β π₯π₯π₯. There is so much to say about this album and the incredible year BTS has had during these most incredible (not in a good way) times. But I am going to save that commentary for episode 19 of the popcast in which we discuss BTS, BE, and βLife Goes Onβ and so much more. (Billboard)
Agent of Chaos
It seems that life often imitates art or reality as far as Mark Burnett is concerned. According to reports coming out of MGM where he is the head of the TV division, he gets off on chaos. I canβt say Iβm surprised. He is responsible for covering up a bunch of crap for the Toddler in Chief at The Apprentice and still refuses to release the tapes. Well you know what they say about birds of a featherβ¦(THR)
The Last of Us Comes To HBO
The Last of Us is a video game. Even as an aspiring video game novice, I had to look that up. It seems like a pretty cool game. Itβs set 20 years post-apocalypse. And itβs about a guy who is hired to smuggle a 14-year-old girl across the country. Along their journey, they come to rely on each other for survival. No, I havenβt played the game, but I will watch the series which has just been picked up by HBO. There are few details available at the moment. But this has already been filed in the βkeep an eyeβ file. (Deadline)
King Hakeem Is Coming Back On...
A few weeks ago it was announced that Amazon had purchased the rights to Coming 2 America, the sequel to Eddie Murphyβs classic 1988 film Coming To America. With Rona completely screwing over movie releases/dates etc, this was not a big surprise. Well, now Amazon has officially announced when we can expect the sequelβs highly anticipated arrival. Save the date for March 5, 2021. This is a little later than anticipated. I thought it would be around Christmas, but I guess that was a bit optimistic given there are barely any promo materials (posters, trailers, etc) or any other details that have been released about the movie. I will of course keep you posted on details as they become available. (THR)
700 and Counting
Freaky was the number 1 movie in the country for the second week in a row. This is not a big surprise. The fact it was number one while pulling in $1.2 mi on the weekend before Thanksgiving, no less is the surprise and not a good one, especially for an already struggling theater industry. We all know why the industry is struggling so much. Thanks, Rona for continuing to make things worse. Amid the current surge of cases nearly 700 theaters reclosed this weekend practically overnight. Again Iβm thinking the movie theater industry is one that may never fully recover from Rona. I hope that I am wrong. (THR)
