MAX, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, and actor was one of my great musical discoveries of 2020. I first heard him when he was featured on Agust D’s (aka Suga of BTS) song “Burn It’, which also happens to be one of my favorite songs from last year. He initially reminded me of a young Justin Timberlake, only as far as the smoothness and soulfulness of his voice. Trust me it did not take long for the Timberlake comparisons to end and for me to fully appreciate MAX for himself and his own talents. Anyway, after listening to “Burn It” repeatedly, I immediately googled him and pulled up his whole discography, granted it was pretty short. His second full-length album Colour Vision featuring “Blueberry Eyes” with Suga, had not yet been released. But once it was I definitely was not disappointed. My love for MAX has only continued to grow. Believe it or not “Blueberry Eyes: isn’t even my favorite song from Colour Vision. If I had to pick I’d probably choose “New Life” or “Missed Calls” featuring Hayley Kiyoko. Granted were I to write this tomorrow I’d probably choose something different. Colour Vision is one of those albums that has something for everyone.
