Artist of the Week: Giveon

Wine Down Radio’s artist of the week is Giveon. He is probably best known for his feature on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle”. However the 25 year old singer/songwriter is currently making a name for himself with his deep, soothing voice that’s smooth as butter. Don’t believe me check out his cover of D’Angelo’s “Untitled”. Those of us familiar with the song know that’s one of the Holy Grail songs which should never be touched by anyone, ever. Although Giveon does make it his own and doesn’t try to duplicate or sound like the original version. I would describe him as a Barry White meets Luther Vandross for the new school. So far he’s released two albums “TAKE TIME” and “When It’s All Said And Done,” (EP) both this year. Both albums are amazing and hopefully a sample of what is yet to come. Check him out below.
