Artist of the Week: Honne

Wine Down Radio’s inaugural artist of the week goes to none of than British Electronic Pop/Soul duo Honne (pronounced like on with an H at the beginning per the duo themselves 😊). I first discovered them through my love of BTS. I know it seems lately all roads lead back to the Bangtan Boys, but I promise this is really not about them. Honne produced ‘Seoul’ from RM’s solo mixtape ‘Mono’. RM was also featured on one of my favorite Honne tracks “Crying Over You” (Love Me/Love Me Not). I must say discovering this group has been on of the bright spots of quarantine. I can’t wait to hear more great music and hopefully see them live one day. Check out the specially curated playlist of some of my favorite tracks and album ratings below.

  • Warm On A Cold Night (2016) - 🍿🍿🍿🍿.25/5 Apple Music Spotify

    • Favorite Songs Include: Warm on a Cold Night; Til the Evening Ends; Someone That Loves You; Treat You Right; All in the Value; It Ain’t Wrong Loving You; Good Together

  • Love Me/Love Me (2018) 🍿🍿🍿🍿.75/5. Apple Music Spotify

    • This is by far my favorite of the 3 albums. It’s one of those where you just let it play from beginning to end and enjoy every song. So hard to pick a favorite, although I think "Shrink” should be the song of the year especially with lyrics like “You'd better book me a shrink for 2020'Cause by that time I'm gonna be crazy, crazy”. How clairvoyant of them🤣🤣.

  • No Song Without You (2020) 🍿🍿🍿. Apple Music Spotify

    • Standouts include ‘no song with out you’; ‘free love’; ‘iloveyoumorethanicansay’; ‘by my side’; ‘loving you is so easy’; and ‘socialdistancing’.
