Power or Love?

This week’s Spotlight Artist is one of my favorite singers, Halsey. Not only is Halsey a great singer but she is also a very talented songwriter as well. Honestly she is the reason I discovered BTS. I loved their collab “Boy WIth Luv” and the rest as they say is history. But this is about Halsey. As I was saying she has a very distinctive voice that fits well in a variety of genres as she has proven throughout her six-year career.

Halsey recently released her latest cd If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, an ode to womanhood and motherhood. The album was produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Finch and finds Halsey leaning more into a rock vibe. Like a lot of her previous releases, it took me a minute to get into it. I usually have to listen a couple of times before I can fully appreciate the album and this was no different. But once I got into it, I really do love the creativity of the album and applaud Halsey for always being one of those artists who pushes her boundaries. Here’s how Billboard ranked every song on the album. Check it out below and decide for yourself.
