Spotlight Artist: Jimmie Allen
Country Soul
This week the spotlight shines on country music sensation singer/songwriter Jimmie Allen. Jimmie is among the many new faces bringing some much needed diversity into the country music game. After many long years pounding the Nashville payment he dropped his debut Mercury Lane in 2018. Followed up by his collab filled album Bettie Jame, featuring Nelly, Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, the legendary Charlie Pride, Brad Paisley and Mickey Guyton just to name a few. Most Recently he released Tulip Drive which featured collabs with Jennifer Lopez, CeeLo Green, and T-Pain just to name a few. Jimmie is also the first Black solo performer to win New Male Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards (2021). As a long time fan of country music I am really happy to see genre becoming more diverse. I know it has a way to go but as I always say baby steps.
