The Daily Wine Down (11-3)
It's Election Day, Go VOTE!!!
Today is election day, our national day of reckoning, and I know this particular election day is wrought with some kind of anxiety for all of us. We’re all thinking about the outcome and the possible shenanigans to occur between today and the final vote count /announcement of the winner and beyond. My only advice is to vote and try hard not to stress out about the rest. Easier said than done I know. 😊 But in the meantime, Happy Election Day, may God bless us all.🙏🏾🙏🏾
Taraji Is Hosting the AMAs
Taraji P. Henson is going to host the American Music Awards on, Sunday Nov.22 8/7C on ABC. This will be Taraji’s first time hosting. I am actually looking forward to watching and seeing how she does. So far, BTS and Dua Lipa are the only performances that have been announced. (Deadline)
The Fight Over Disneyland Continues
California mayors have written to Governor Gavin Newsome encouraging him to lift the stringent re-opening guidelines on Disneyland and other California amusement parks. I get it, I really do. People want businesses open so they can make money go to work and support their families, especially since the current administration is not doing anything to help. But dammit we are in the middle of a f@cking pandemic and it’s getting worse every day, especially here in the U.S. So now is not the time to open amusement parks willy nilly and without restriction, if at all. Disneyland Paris just shut down again. Despite what certain media outlets and the Imposter in Chief wants us to believe Rona has not gone anywhere. Multiple European countries are at various stages of locking down again. If we had any damn sense we would follow suit until we got this damn thing under control. (THR)
"The Things They Carried" Cast
Tim O’Brien’s best-selling book, “The Things They Carried” is being adapted into a movie starring Tom Hardy, Stephan James, and Pete Davidson. “The Things They Carried” is an anthology of short stories about the various things soldiers carried with them into the war and what these things meant to them. I am really interested to see how this book will be adapted. It has the potential to be really great and interesting or go off the rails really quickly. I love the cast but have never read the book, so we will add this one to the Wait & See File. (EW)
Sean Connery...1930-2020
The tributes continue to pour in after Sean Connery’s death on Sunday. Sean Connery was not only my favorite James Bond, he was also one of my all-time favorite actors. He was one of those actors that were must-see. Meaning if he was in a movie it was pretty much a guarantee that I was going to see it. Entertainment Weekly has compiled a retrospective of his life in photos. The above photo is one of my favorites taken by the late Herb Ritts. (EW)
Cartoonists Making A Corona Comeback
Rona is making cartoons and animation king. Due to all the live-action production delays, animation is in high demand in Hollywood. Many of the animation studios and productions barely missed a beat when the first lockdown occurred. This is really cool, although I must admit I have a love-hate relationship with animation. We’ll chalk it up to babysitting and being forced to watch animated films repeatedly PTSD. (EW)
