The Daily Wine Down Tuesday (12-1)
Breaking More Records
BTS deserves all the things and that’s exactly what they are getting and setting records in the process. Yesterday I wrote about their latest album BE, debuting at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, their 2nd album to debut at number one this year. Well now their leadoff single from that album, “Life Goes On” has also debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is BTS’ 3rd song including “Dynamite” and “Savage Love” to debut at #1 in 3 months. “Life Goes On” also becomes the first non-English single to debut at #1. Congrats to BTS and their Army (fans). BTS also received some good news about their military service and enlistment. (Billboard)
Streaming in December
Welcome to December. The cluster fuck known as 2020 is almost over and we can only pray that this is rock bottom and 2021 is hella better, In the meantime, we still have to get through the rest of this lovely year. So here’s the list of what’s streaming on all the streaming services in December to help make that feat just a little bit easier. There are several major Oscar contenders vying for your views as well as Wonder Woman on HBO Max. Regardless of what you like, there’s plenty to choose from. Enjoy !!(TVLine)
Why Are They Still Playing?
Are you ready for some football? On a Wednesday afternoon? The Steelers and the Ravens are possibly maybe finally playing their game at 3:40 PM (EST) on Wednesday, Dec. 2. The game is supposed to be televised on NBC. This is at least the 3rd postponement, I’ve honestly lost count, since the game was originally scheduled to be played on Thanksgiving. But it had to be delayed due to the Rona outbreak on the Ravens, Twenty-one Ravens players including star QB Lamar Jackson have tested positive for the Rona. I honestly don’t know why they are still trying to force this game. Just cancel it and move on. But again it’s the NFL and most decisions they make are absolutely senseless and most definitely all about money. (ESPN)
In other news, the San Francisco 49ers have found a home, since Santa Clara County had issued a ban on all contact sports. You know due to the Rona. Anyway, it looks like the 9ers will be playing their home games in Arizona at the Cardinals stadium.
Welcome to Studio 2054
Dua Lipa’s livestream show Studio 2054., was viewed by 5 million people. Big shout out to Dua Lipa. I must admit I am a fan. I don’t think she gets enough credit. The girl can straight up sang. She has a really powerful and soulful voice. One of my favorite songs is a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Tears Dry On Their Own”, which she did with Gallant. If you missed Dua Lipa’s live stream it will be available until 11:59P Dec. 6. http://www.live-now.com. Tickets are $10. (Variety)
Laverne Cox...Bruised Not Broken
Laverne Cox shared the details of a transphobic attack she endured while walking with a friend in Griffith Park (Los Angeles). It sounds like this could have gone from bad to worse really quickly. Thankfully both Cox and her friend are okay. This story is truly triggering. Especially considering the rate at which black transwomen are coming up missing and or dead. Again I am glad that Laverne and her friend are okay. (People)
