Charlize's Max Deal
Charlize Theron’s production company Denver & Delilah has just inked a two-year first-look TV production deal with HBO and HBO Max. Under the deal, Theron will produce and develop content for the cable network and the streaming service. Denver & Delilah has previously produced several shows such as MIndhunter. I loved that show which has been unofficially canceled by Netflix. But I still highly recommend you check it out if you haven’t seen it. Maybe they can do a wrap-up movie or something. Movies produced by the company include Long Shot, Bombshell, and The Old Guard amongst others. All I can say is you go girl. (THR)
December Reading List
Yay December’s reading list has been released. More books to add to my list. Most of the books on this month’s reading list are holiday romances. I’m not a big fan of romance novels per se, but many of these look really interesting. Tis the season. I may get one or two and actually get around to reading it by next Christmas or maybe in time for Christmas in July. On a side note, I miss hanging out at the bookstore. (EW)
Best Book To Film Adaptations
Obviously, I love to read and I love to watch movies. I also love when the two come together as an onscreen adaptation. But I will go on the record and say the book is usually better than the movie. And I am one of those who can’t go back and read the book after I’ve watched the movie, so I usually try to read the book first. There have been a few rare occasions where I watched the movie first and then went to the book and was actually able to finish and get through the book. Entertainment Weekly has released a list of what they consider to be the best book to film adaptations. I have not read all of the books on the list although I have seen many of the movies. I will absolutely positively co-sign on The To Kill A Mockingbird and The Color Purple selections. The books and movies are phenomenal for both and I can reread the books and rewatch those movies over and over again.. (EW)
It's All About the Money
Money Heist, Netflix’s Spanish hit drama is getting a Korean makeover. As a fan of both the original show, which is in production for its fifth and final season, and a relatively new lover of Kdramas. at least the action-packed ones I am all the way here for this adaptation. (Deadline)
Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself
Meet Elliot Page. Hello, Elliot Page nice to meet you. The Umbrella Academy and Juno star, formerly Ellen Page, came out as transgender and non-binary. I can’t imagine how terrifying this must have been but also exhilarating at the same time. To finally be able to live your truth out loud and proud.. He even alluded to the scary parts in the letter he wrote. I congratulate the brave bold steps he took in sharing this with the world. I look forward to seeing more work from Elliot in the future.
