Welcome To Nirvana

Nirvana is, was, and always will be one of my favorite bands of all time. The band was founded by their late lead singer, Kurt Cobain, and guitarist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington. They later added drummer Dave Grohl. Yes that Dave Grohl, who later went on to form The Foo Fighters. Along with Pearl Jam, Nirvana is credited for putting the “Seattle Sound” which became the foundation for grunge/alternative indie rock on the map. “Smells Like Teen Spirit” blew up and became their first big runaway hit. This week marked the anniversary of his tragic passing in 1994, at the height of his band’s popularity. The older I the more I appreciate the band’s music and appreciate the musical genius of Kurt Cobain.
